October 28, 2013 – Join us for a Dia De Los Muertos Celebration November 2nd at Suzie’s Farm!

As our name suggests, Lauren Sharon Vintage Rentals appreciates old stuff. Vintage style, vintage craftsmanship, and vintage traditions. Being proud residents of Southern California, one of our favorite vintage traditions is Dia De Los Muertos, or Day of the Dead. This is a day for remembering and celebrating the lives of those who have passed. This year, we’ve partnered up with the fabulous Suzie’s Farm for a Dia De Los Muertos party you definitely will not want to miss. You only live once, right?

Dia De Los Muertos

In addition to the festive lounges and decor by Lauren Sharon (check out our Pinterest inspiration board!), this family-friendly celebration will feature traditional Mexican dishes prepared by some of our favorite San Diego and Baja chefs.  Click here for a full list of participating restaurants. The event will also include live music from Charlie Chavez y Su Afrotruko, hosted by Chris Springer and the Latin Grooves show on Jazz 88.

Proceeds from this event will support the Front Burner Fund and Kitchen Commandos, two of our community’s superstar non-profits.

Join us with your favorite people and fiesta getup at The Grove at Suzie’s Farm (2570 Sunset Avenue, San Diego, CA 92154)  on Saturday, November 2nd from 6-10pm!

October 25, 2013 – Crystal Clear

Nothing completes a space quite like the perfect chandelier.  That philosophy can also be applied to weddings! Hang chandeliers above your altar, sweetheart table, dance floor, or just around your venue for subtle vintage ambiance. It’s all about the details.

Stop by the Lauren Sharon Vintage Rentals warehouse to see our assortment of lighting styles ranging from crystal-clad to rustic iron. We’re open seven days a week by appointment.

October 23, 2013 – We Put the “Table” in Farm to Table

We’ve been so busy shuffling these farm-style dining tables around San Diego for events we haven’t had a chance to talk about them (or even post them on the website!) until now.

Matching farm-style tables have been a fairly frequently requested item all summer – trend alert! Sure, we have tons of different vintage dining tables at the Lauren Sharon warehouse, but not everyone wants to mix and match. The brides have spoken, so we put aside a few days over the summer and built a handful of the farm tables you see below. We’ve been using them non-stop ever since!

Contact us if you’d like to rent one for your upcoming San Diego wedding or special event! And if there is a piece you want for your wedding but cant find anywhere, tell us! What we can’t find, we build 😉

October 21, 2013 – San Dieguito Park Ceremony

If you’re looking for a simple, beautiful outdoor venue for your San Diego wedding ceremony, San Dieguito County Park is a great choice. The greenery makes a gorgeous backdrop for pictures and the classic white gazebo is standing year-round. You can even bring in your own personal touches, such as the stumps flanking the aisle (provide by the bride) and the aisle doorway (provided by Lauren Sharon Vintage Rentals) brought in for lovely rustic wedding over the weekend:Rustic Doorway

October 18, 2013 – Framed

Traditionally, the job of a picture frame is to complement the image it contains. If you give them a chance, however, many frames make a statement all on their own. Lauren Sharon Vintage Rentals has a darn good collection of vintage picture frames (if we do say so ourselves). Hang them on walls, from trees, or use them as props for a photobooth. Here are a few examples from recent Lauren Sharon events:

October 14, 2013 – Gatsby Glam Guide

Gatsby-glam is still on trend for weddings and parties this winter. When planning your 1920’s-inspired happening, think:

MUSIC –  Jazz, swing, and ragtime. 1920's Music

FASHION – For the ladies: Low-wasted, loose-fitting, cocktail dresses topped with cloche hats or embellished head pieces. Accessorize with pearls and a beaded clutch. For the gents: A classic black tux will work just fine.

1920's Fashion

DECOR – A fusion of Post-Victorian and Art Deco. Mix luxurious fabrics with linens, tufted furniture with modern lines, traditional 19th century florals with bold geometric patterns, natural wood with flashy metallics and glass. The image below was stocked and style by Lauren Sharon Vintage Rentals in San Diego, CA. For more Gatsby inspiration visit styleunveiled.com for additional photos from this glamorous shoot.

October 10, 2013 – Getting Loose at Luce Loft

Over the weekend we did a birthday party at Luce Loft, a fabulous open concept event space located in downtown San Diego. We were asked to fill the space, and fill it we did! A large lounge was placed in one corner with some of our custom lighting pieces to keep it bright and welcoming. Our hand-built belly bars and vintage art studio stools were strategically placed to draw guests into the center of the space after leaving the custom bar area.  We had a blast putting this together and hope the birthday boy had fun too!Luce Loft From the Back Luce Loft Lighting Luce Loft Lighting Detail Luce Loft Door and Belly Bar Luce Loft From Front Luce Loft BarLuce Loft Bar DetailLuce Loft Lounge
